The popular outdoor Google Nest Cam has a bright floodlight, two-way audio communication, 1080p Full HD, zoom features, Night Vision, and connects to your existing Wi-Fi router. It records at a rate of 30 frames per second, guaranteeing you’ll never miss a moment.
The outdoor Nest Cam is compatible with Google Home devices, like the Google Nest Hub and Alexa hubs. You can also view recorded and live footage via the Google Home app on Android and iPhones.
This Nest Cam requires a wired installation and is meant to replace an existing floodlight, but it can also work as a new installation. The floodlight controls can be automated and turned on and off at will, giving you a peek of your property whenever the mood strikes.
I’m less thrilled with the bulbs on the floodlights, which are not user-replaceable. They have an exceptionally long life, but when they go out for good, you’ll need to replace the entire unit with a new Nest Cam.
If you have a Nest Aware subscription, which is required if you want to look over more than three hours of recorded footage, it’s backed up in the cloud and available for two months.
